Overcome Sprawls of Lore-filled Discoveries; will your weapons do the talking?

I never did enjoy the basic natural structures in Minecraft. As a child, I burnt villages for fun.

Just me?

So A Roguelike Minecraft was born, to reinvision the game as a whole. Reminding us all what a joy it is to explore.

Inspired by the  Roguelike genre to ensure every individual playthrough is sprinkled with unique experiences that feel meaningful. Creating a world you can believe is alive, with joy returned to traversing otherwise empty lands.

Populating the world with new dungeons, cities, the occasional house, windmill, guard tower, outpost and tavern. Special temples, flying ships and even discoveries for the Nether and End. All planned on the horizon. Utilising Minecraft’s structure code to create procedurally generated havens in ways never done before.

For now? This is Epic Dungeons. The beginning of our tale of the traveller.

What will they find?

This is coming soon!

The contents for this await the completion of the very first step into a journey through the buried castles of a long forgotten kingdom. Buried and overgrown, infested with crystals consuming the very blocks themselves… Spooky.

The dungeon combines all the usual suspects in Minecraft mobs. Redesigning that little boxy cube into something immense and deadly. Skeletons, zombies and spiders roam the halls of this sunken castle, left to ruination and infestation.

Are you ready to fight for recovery?

Or will you stumble upon some unexpected letters in your search…?

Is there something bigger going on within the castle?

What led it to sink deep down?

Or rather…

Who?

Enjoy the treasure hunt!

This dungeon comes with over 450 unique pieces, set up to combine with one another for varied rooms, connections and origin points in trillions of different ways. Guaranteeing no two times will ever have the same layout – unless you’re an immortal vampire with decades to spare, or the unluckiest soul in the galaxy.

All the loot tables are customised to suit the chest’s locations. This means some may not be worth your time, while others are more desirable than you can imagine.

This ups the challenge of typical Minecraft. Complete with tougher enemies, the occasional miniboss, and a dangerous foe at the end of it. Are you ready to fight?

Other Plans:

Forgotten Sewers

Old, abandoned sewer networks for a city long since evacuated. Abandoned and buried by the futility of time. Crushing all things… Now occupied by oversized monstrous eight legged critters. Scattered with nests in caves carved into the sewer system walls by eerily powerful fangs. Oddly sentient, they even gathered their own resources… Something is making them so strong, but what? It seems not everyone abandoned the sewers.

Crypt of the Lost

Certain Empires bury their fallen with respect. One such Empire has come and gone. Perhaps shifted away by continental breakage. Leaving their crypt far away from where they once set up homes. Their dead sleeping in a network of tombs… …but some woke up. Eyes glowing. Moans echoing through the collapsed tunnels. Signs of bloody markings on floors and candles scattered in circles litter the underground. Is something worse at hand here?

Tomb of the Lich King

Rumours of a Lich travel far. Unmistakable. All powerful. The deadliest creatures known to the living, surrounded by hordes of powerful undead. Skeletal armies at their side. One such Lich announced their presence. A spire reaching up above the ground, magical eye gazing out over the land. Their Tomb encased in the ground. Waiting for any challengers who dare trespass on the sacred tomb.

Epic Villages: A Roguelike Minecraft

When I say ‘Villages’, picture ‘Cities’, because a village couldn’t be a further cry from the truth. From Dwarven Kingdoms under generated mountains to Steampunk cities rising up from the ground and branching out in towers that shoot up into the sky. Sky islands of celestials and our typical fantasy medieval empire in the plains… A living world is only complete when there are people to match.

Expect inspiration from all my other projects to trickle into this through development. Hints of inventions from the Magical Steampunk City, colourful lightshows from the Dazzling Cyberpunk Illusion, and an Elven Metropolis reminding you you can’t burn down every forest you come across.
